Barkcloth

This fabric gets its name from its signature rough texture and feel, similar to tree bark. Barkcloth is most often a cotton weave that’s very dense, as well as textured. It also is made with linen, rayon and polyester fibers.

Barkcloth comes in different weights and is used to make upholstery, draperies, pillows and aloha shirts. The textured look minimizes the appearance of soiling. Care depends on a barkcloth’s fibers and the use of a fabric finish.
