Poplin is a strong fabric that has a plain
weave with crosswise ribs running from selvage to selvage. It has
a ridged structure that gives depth and softness to the luster of
the surface. Poplin is used for shirts, khaki pants, servicemen’s
uniforms, golf umbrellas and caps. A heavier-weight cotton poplin
can be an alternative for using twill when making clothes for warm
weather. Poplin is easy to iron and doesn’t wrinkle easily.
